Pros: The view just doesn't get any better. Atmosphere is awesome. Organic food on the menu. That's about it for the pros in my opinion. The food was just ok. The servers were not friendly and the food took a long time to get to the table. As far as the food goes, there wasn't one dish on the table that didn't have something that wasn't overcooked and about 15 seconds from being burned and unable to serve. Unfortunately for me, that was my whole plate (Really...Deep fried crab cakes? Who deep fries crab cakes?). Other two members of my party had the organic bison burger...they both say it tasted great but was over cooked. I thought the hushpuppies were the best thing served. If I was in the area maybe I would give it a second chance, but I wouldn't drive out of my way to eat here again.

They now take credit cards :) everything is delicious here as always! And, now they offer an organic menu along with the original menu still in place. But they don't sell oysters anymore!

I love this place! Great causal place to eat crab legs or oysters as the butter drips down your arms! Right on the water with lots of different seating options, can be less than $10 a person if you go sandwiches instead of entrees. Awesome fish tacos! Two small drawbacks, cash only-so come prepared, and valet parking only (we park across the street in the neighborhood and walk over). My favorite place in town!

Ok I typically would only give 5?stars for a fine dining experience. But High Tides deserves every one of them. We happened on this place on a Tuesday and it turned out to be our lucky day as it was "shrimp Tuesday" which means a full pound is spiced steamed shrimp for only $10.95 which is half off. The shrimp were amazing. We also shared perfectly battered and lightly fried onion rings and an order of conch fritters that were chock full of sweet conch and not the slightest bit greasy. We were stopping for a light bite or would have tried a few other items from their organic menu. Organic elk or bison burger in Flagler? Wow! High Tides is right on the beach and they have outdoor and screened patio seating. Great food, great views, reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

A classic old Florida beach joint. Located directly over the beach between Ormond Beach & Flagler Beach. If a hurricane ever took it down, they would not be allowed to build back this close to the beach. Cash only and valet parking only. No AC but really not needed with the ocean breeze. You can dine inside in the main area or along the screened window overlooking the water. Patrons are all types from bikers to families with kids. Menu includes fresh fish and wild caught Atlantic shrimp, conch fritters, oysters, scallops. Seafood is the specialty but you get a burger if you must. Much more expansive menu than you would expect. I had a shrimp POBoy and skipped the usual fries for an organic kale salad and was not disappointed.

Okay... First off. The food was ok. Can't fault them for that. It was surpassable seafood. The downside....... The service was AWFUL!! We were seated and it took the waitress 15 minutes to take our order. Now I know you could say she was busy, but she walked by our table like 3 times to ask the other tables how they were. Never stopped at ours. It was hot. Drinks were served in really small cups and of course the waitress never bothered to ask us if we needed refills. I feel we could have saved our money , bought some frozen seafood from Publix, cooked at home and had a lot better of a time.

Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because we didn't find out until after we tried to pay for our bill with a card that they only accept cash...also because our server started out GREAT, but fizzled after we got our meal (very nice lady, but they were busy and she may have had too much on her plate). That being said, the food was amazing! The portions are very large, so it would be worth it to share. We shared the steamed crab legs, shrimp, and mahi mahi...the shrimp were huge, and the mahi mahi was so fresh. The prices are typical of a seafood restaurant, but for the portion sizes , they're actually much better. With two drinks, an appetizer, side salad, and the steamed combo, with tax and tip, we spent $40. I will definitely be going back!!!!!

Spent a glorious day at the beach with my lovey. Still in beach wear, we wanted a no fuss meal. We found this place purely upon accident. We will be regulars. We started with two cold draft beers. They hit the spot. We began with organic salads. Very good flavor, right size. We then ordered a whole pound of steamed shrimp. The cook knows how to steam shrimp to perfection. It came with drawn butter, lemon and homemade cocktail sauce. A delight in every bite. We saw in a previous review to get the onion rings. Get the onion rings! So good. Btw, beachwear was everywhere. Did I say, on the ocean? Unbelievable views..

great view on the beach just feet away from the surf. for that reason it's worth going here. I ordered fish tacos which were just a few shrimp (which were good) tossed on top of a soft tortilla. At close to $13 or $14 not worth it. Wife had crab cakes which were just ok. We are local and will go back again for drinks, burgers, view, etc. but don't expect a great culinary experience. standard beach fare and nothing more. some of the other menu items may be better. As far as Flagler Beach dining goes it would rate High Tides as about average.

Great Spot overlooking the beach. Been coming here since I was a kid. You sit and are 50 yards from the water. It's been around for almost 70 years so they have been doing it right. Great happy hour. 2$ bud light with an ocean view, can't beat that. Clam Chowda had a little sand in it so you know it's fresh.

To start, bring some cash because they only have valet parking otherwise ask your waitress for some cashback and they'll oblige. Now about the place and the food. You couldn't buy atmosphere. It was awesome... We aked our waitress for recommendations and she mentioned three things: mystery punch, smoked fish dip and the fish tacos. Thepunch was perfect. Not too alcoholic. The smoke dip was, well lets just say we think the Ale House's fish dip is much better. As for their fish taco's, these were served with a homemade salsa themy wife commentes was one of the best she's had in a while. The special sause has a hell of a kick to it. And for the tacos was a whole filet of Mahi Mahi. My wife loved it. I thought it was kina bland without the sause. Maybe next time, and there will be a next time, I'll get the Mahi blackened. In conclusion, definitely a place to visit if you're at Flagler Beach. Enjoy.

Nice place. The food is pretty good. The prices are a bit high for the quality and quantity of food. But the location is great!

  • Peter S.

Fairly standard food choices for a beach place. Typical seafood fare and sandwiches done as well as anywhere. No gourmet cooking here but servings are large and tasty. You won't find a restaurant serving this kind of food that does it any better BUT the location is totally the best. You would come here for the location on the beach and accept average overpriced food but that's not this place happily.

Go for the view and atmosphere, but skip the food. We had a snack if mozzarella sticks, hush puppies, and hummus. The mozzarella sticks had obviously been frozen and were barely cooked through. Hush puppies were fine, but nothing to write home about. And the person who made the hummus must never have actually tasted hummus before - so bland and boring. The view is beautiful, so I'm glad we stopped in on a whim. But we will never go back.

BEST PEEL N'EAT SHRIMP IN FLORIDA! Hands down best shrimp I've ever found. They have a great happy hour (including shrimp). High tides is right ON the beach, very difficult to find around here. Service is always fabulous and you can't beat the view! So relaxing to chill on the beach and eat some fabulous seafood. Been going there once a week on our days off. Only thing I have tried and didn't like was the Philly cheesesteak. It was really overlooked and I wasn't a fan of their ranch dressing. Stick to the seafood :) Gold star!!!!

Great food, fun atmosphere and it's on the beach! Just remember to bring cash. The juke box there is also a favorite.

We loaded a 26 ft Uhaul and two 12 foot trailers and drove 1100 miles to then cram 3K sq ft worth of stuff into a 1400 sq ft beach home. We were tired, hungry, and it happened to be our 26th wedding anniversary. We arrived after 6PM on 7/1 and ended up having to wait more then 30 minutes for a table. A party of 19 walked in just ahead of us. Bad luck I guess. Once we were seated, it was great. We were in the dining room but could see outside. I ordered the Sake Mary and didn't realize this was a beer and wine only restaurant. However, the Sake Mary was very good. I really liked it. I then switched to craft beers. The Sweetwater 420 IPA was the standout. For dinner I ordered the fried seafood platter and it too was exceptional. I really loved the scallops. The fish was kind of a let down but I saved it for last so it likely cooled too much. Our party of 5 really enjoyed ourselves, the food, and service.

Yo they have organic menus. And a solid beer selection. No good views of the beach outside though. Alot of elderly showed up on the Saturday i came. But families and singles wetter there too.

Went with a large party on Memorial Day weekend. Most of my table ordered fried baskets and they were very satisfied with their meals. My husband ordered a burger, the boogie burger, and was quite happy with it. I was the most adventurous at the table ordering the spiced steamed shrimp and a side curry kale salad. The shrimp boil was similar to Old Bay, but with a little kick. I loved it. Also, the menu points out that all of their shrimp is wild caught. The curry kale salad was a little light on the curry flavor but I like kale so I was ok with it. Please see pictures of the burger, shrimp, and kale salad. Only down side, our wait for food was too long. On the up side, the view of the beach was great.

This is a typical beach joint with a twist. They have an organic section on the menu and some decent beers. However, The food was just ok. My wife had a seared ahi sandwich, but said it didn't seem like the best. I had a mixed seafood platter that was just ok. This is a typical beach dive that has a great view but not much else.

Great place but the old menu was better. Too much organic instead of the usual beach shack food

  • Aaron C.

We don't go anymore. We stopped after portions got smaller & prices increased. Servers changed. Disappointed for @ 2yrs now. We would always take friends from out of town here but not anymore. Many of our friends agree. Great atmosphere BUT I GO OUT 2 EAT FOR A GREAT FOOD EXPERIENCE. This place needs to make changes to keep up with what makes customers return. Plus the whole under-the-table cash thing is a bit old especially with such high food prices.

  • Jim W.

    Great view, atmosphere and service!

This place rules! All the fish sandwiches and any fish dish are amazingly fresh. We have never had a bad meal here. The views onto the beach are also great.

  • Phil L.

I'm a native Floridian and been around seafood all my life so I believe my opinion has a higher degree of relevance. That being said I've eaten here several times and never had a bad meal. High Tides calls itself a "snack jack" but the food is better and the menu is broader than merely a snack shack. You can't beat the view as there is nothing but beach between you and the ocean. On nice days and nights the porch area is open to the ocean breeze and there is a deck that is open to all the elements. Its CASH ONLY which is a bit of a pain if your not prepared.

Very disappointed. We've stopped here many times over the years but mostly during Daytonas bike week, biketoberfest, etc. so was always on a motorcycle. But yesterday were in a car and not allowed to park because of their Valet parking policy? Two young men were assigned parking duty but since I don't allow anyone to drive my very, very expensive convertible, not even my wife, I politely asked to park myself. (Not 5 yards away where there was plenty of space.) I said I would gladly pay any valet fees and tip. They refused my offer so being Rejected I decided to go elsewhere to eat. Now I wish I had left my wife with the car, gone inside and asked management "why the policy and if it now applies to motorcycles?"

Snack Jack's is always wonderful: food, drinks and atmosphere. Worth the drive from Daytona Beach.

Checked this place out today. Real casual place on the beach. Great view, real good service. The food was really good too. I had a blackened fish sandwich that was real tasty. Fries and onion rings were real good. Sandwiches are served in plastic baskets with paper lining, sides are ordered separately. We will be back for sure. They had some hot sauce I didn't see until I was done eating that I wanted to try.

Excellent little restaurant! It's very casual and rustic on teh beach. Pulling up, it's valet only becasue there isn't much parking. It doesn't cost, just tip. Another quirk is that it is a cash only facility. What carries cash? They do have an ATM. Besides all this, the food is wonderful. They steamed oysters were the largest we had ever seen. They were delicious too. I had the fish tacos which were yummy. My husband ha dthe ahi tuna sandwich, which was great too. We'll definitely go back when in the area.

This place was recommended by the inn where we stayed, and afterward we had to let the innkeeper know our feelings about the place, because it was a bit of a let down. We didn't want her to recommend it to others, and I decided to give it a yelp for the same reason. First, the view is terrific. Right on the beach, and that's what we were looking for, since the Pier restaurant, our old favorite right-on-the-beach eating place, had closed down. But that's where the good news ends. The seafood was listed at market price, making you believe it was fresh. Well we should have asked. It tasted completely frozen. My husband said his shrimp tacos, one of his favorite dishes to eat around Atlanta (probably with a fair share of frozen fish as well) was completely bland. My tuna filet on my sandwich was dry as a bone. I mean, some restaurants can make even frozen food taste good. This isn't one of them. The service was awful. You know how dry food makes you drink more water? Well after waiting about 10 minutes, during which we couldn't really eat our mediocre food due to our glasses being empty, I had to get up to get my own refill of water. Worse is that there were no servers around for as long as it took me to leave the booth, get the pitcher of the service stand, bring the pitcher back to the booth, fill our glasses, and return the pitcher to the service stand. It was a ghost town. We were relieved to pay our bill and leave. Go for the view and a beer maybe (if you don't need prompt refills) but don't bother spending much here unless you want to feel fleeced. 2 stars only because of the 5 star view.

When visiting my nagging family, in Florida, this little beach shack bar and grill is a highlight of my trip. The open air patio, ocean air, salty sea dog tables and super fresh seafood make it one of my favorite places to eat. Grab a bucket of steamers.. some cajun peel and eat shrimp.. some king crab legs- and go nuts! It's such a great find- and it makes me happy to get off the plane in Northeast Florida.

As local residents we make a point of going to SJ's at least once a month and usually enjoy the atmosphere, service & food. BUT, last night was a disaster! After waiting 40 minutes for a table, we were seated, ordered & waited another 40 minutes, asked our server when our food would be out, only to be told there were 5 tickets ahead of us and it would be another 20 minutes. We cancelled our order, and as we proceeded to leave the manager- also the bartender & food runner last night- offered to comp us (not the point) and tried to explain that they were very busy & their kitchen is small. This is no way to run a business: if we were told this when we signed in on the seating board, we wouldn't have stayed. A little communication goes a long way. And, it's Spring Break- be more prepared.

I'll admit, it's been awhile since I've been here, but this used to be one of my favorite places to go for oysters, shrimp and wow, that fish rueben! Right on the beach, so valet only folks, but the view is amazing. This place is super casual, and you can come straight up for a bite after a day at the beach. I used to take all my friends and family here for seafood when they would come down to Florida and visit. They used to do some pretty killer beer bucket deals too... (also used to be cash only... but had an ATM on site, not sure if that is still the case.) Oysters were always right on, and if they weren't, then they just wouldn't sell them that day! The offerings of the fried variety are just that... but excellent. And those hush puppies.... Now I'm getting a little nostalgic... all of the amazing nights, with beers and good food and watching the moon rise over the ocean. Miss you Snack Jacks!

Ate here for the first time last night and experienced some delicious food with very spotty service. The place is cute - it's a real beachfront shack where you can sit and watch the waves roll in while you enjoy fresh seafood - the kind of place you want to find when visiting a place like Ormond Beach. The dining room is covered in old license plates and knickknacks, lending a kind of ramshackle charm to the place. However, we were greeted by a very unpleasant host who never smiled at us or asked where we'd like to sit (there were several spots available on patio and in the bar area/main room which is inside.) He just led us to a table, pointed, and left without even asking if it would be okay. I'm not a diva or anything, but that's just falling down on the job! The host is supposed to make guests feel welcome, not like an annoyance. The server showed up promptly, and she was very friendly as she took our order. We didn't have to wait very long, and everything was delicious (fish sandwich, fried clams, onion rings, hushpuppies with jalapeños - I loved them but nobody warned my dad, who can't handle anything spicy.) The highlight for me was truly delicious fried butterfly shrimp. Absolutely mouth-watering. But we never saw our server again after the food arrived. The host, Mr. Friendly, came back and refilled my sweet tea with unsweet despite my telling him I had sweet, and didn't say a word as we walked right by him on the way out. I would give the place one star for service and four for food. The great location pushes the average up to three stars.

Wow, I can't believe how much has changed in a year. I grew up in Ormond and Snack Jacks was always my favorite spot for a casual fish sandwich. I was home for Christmas and went to Snack Jacks for the first time in a year. They now take credit cards, which is nice. But their menu has totally changed - it says "organic" 18 times (we counted) and has gotten more expensive. The fish is still good but I don't need to come all the way out to Flagler Beach for the yuppification of this seafood shack. Next time, we'll skip the drive and go to Hulls.

The food is nothing to turn your head at but nothing that causes fireworks in your mouth either. This place is 5 star atmosphere for casual, you can't beat being right on the beach of the Atlantic.

  • Jason Z.

Location was awesome, views was spectacular. Very casual atmosphere, and parking was a breeze, as they do it for you. Don't forget your cash, they don't take plastic! We sat in the middle porch area and service was not that great; I would have had at least another beer... I had the shrimp po boy, it could have used another shrimp or two for the price.

We were camping at Gamble Rogers State Park last month and while walking up to "town", we found Snack Jack. This was a perfect spot to stop and have a few cold ones, some onion rings and watch the crowd from Biketoberfest. Their boiled shrimp is outstanding! We even bought a jar of their spices and have enjoyed it at home. The folks there are really nice and friendly. We were able to walk back to our campsite along the beach. No worries about drinking and driving ;) We hope to be able to stop there again if/when we pass thru town in the future.

We've come here over the years and enjoyed it a lot for the view and tasty food. Today was a tad different. The view was missing due to bad weather and after watching Bar Rescue a bunch we had a few flashbacks to the show. Food was a little plain, service was ok but slow, and the messiness factor wash fairly high. The trash cans on the dining deck are kinda gross and the view to the kitchen walking in was a little concerning. But we'll probably go back, it is such a great spot.

Have a go eating above the beach. Pick your favorite beer while listening to the surf and favorite tunes. Cannot help relaxing with the ocean breeze. Good food.

This was a pretty nice seafood restaurant there was a nice menu with many different options of food. I ordered fried oysters and fries they both were very good. The waiter was friendly and I had a great dinner here. There was also a great view of the ocean.

Stayed in Flagger Beach last week and pretty much tried all the seafood shacks up and down the beach and High Tides was my very favorite! I love the organic menu and how fresh everything was. If your looking for a place to eat on the beach - make this stop #1 - you will go back and so will I!

Nice place on the ocean ..... I will confuse u with the crazy menu and the organic side of the menu but wings are off the chart .... The platter crab legs and fish , shrimp claims & scallops was big enough for 2 .... Couch fritters yummy .... Service could use a little help !! Yummy yummy

Good food, nice service, and now takes credit cards. Only down side would be if it was extremely hot, no AC. With the ocean breeze in the evening it was prefect. Seriously one of the best food options around.

If you are looking for fried seafood with a great view, come here! The view is hard to beat and the atmosphere is very laid back. I ordered scallops and they were huge and very flavorful. The sweet tea is homemade and very southern. The staff are very friendly and make you feel right at home. Drawbacks: valet parking only and restaurant only accepts cash. (There is an ATM inside though).

I'm a Florida local for the past 15 years, and a marketing consultant for the past 30 years. I love Florida and everything about it. But I loathe bad service, which we got a boatload of tonight. And when you go out and spend good money on a meal, shouldn't you at least expect good service? It's one of the factors that any restaurant has almost complete control of. IF the owners are paying attention. (more on that later). This was the second time I've been to High Tides, the previous time was about two years ago. Amazing location right on the beach. Cool restaurant. Reasonably good food. AND THE MOST DON'T-GIVE-A-CARE SERVICE YOU CAN IMAGINE. When the sloppily dressed server came to the table to take the drinks order, he was so flippant and offhand that we actually wondered if he had ever worked there before. When we asked for the price of a particular beer, he tried to be smart with us and it was obvious that he was insinuating that if we were asking the price we shouldn't be there (it wasn't an expensive beer). When we asked for GLASS glasses to drink out of - no, they only have plastic. When he brought the can of soda we had ordered as one of the drinks, it was at room temp (and room temp tonight was about 85 deg). When I asked if we could have a cold one, he casually informed us that "they don't keep any of their canned drinks cold, they're all warm and they just dump them in a glass of ice to cool them off." Seriously?? So in other words by the time your drink cools down, it's 50% water and 50% whatever else is in it. When we asked for a second beer, they brought the wrong bottle, even though the first bottle was on the table staring them in the face when they asked if we wanted another. When we were informed that they only accept cash (yes there is a sign outside, but we just didn't see it as we don't scour the walls of every restaurant we go into for signs), we had to try multiple times to use their "ATM" before it worked. And BTW, it is NOT an official ATM, it's simply a credit card swipe machine that obviously does not dispense cash, so they give you the cash from their own register after you've swiped your card, and then they process the transaction later and get your cash via the credit card company. So in fact they DO accept Credit Cards, but THEY don't want to pay the 1.x% commission to the credit card processor for every transaction in their restaurant, so they get YOU to swipe your card and draw the cash, and then you pay them cash, which they surely stash away from the prying eyes of the IRS and who-knows who else. After all this had happened, we asked who the owners were. "Two girls" we were told, and the server almost asked us what a nerve we had to ask. "Are they here tonight?" we asked. "Oh no, they're not here." And it's a busy Saturday night. In summary, here you have a restaurant with a great location, pretty good food (would have liked to have met the chef, he must be THE only shining star in the entire place), slightly higher than normal prices, and owners who very obviously couldn't care less and are not even bothered to be there on one of the busiest nights of the week. Oh, and staff who are sloppily dressed, have zero table-side skills, and who don't know what they're doing. Nor do they seem to care. FYI - you can skip the "valet only" parking racket, by just parking off A1A up the street. Florida has some awesome restaurants in great locations. This is most certainly not one of them. They are clearly only surviving because of their location and their chef, and for me, that's not enough to have to put up with service that leaves you feeling insulted as you walk out the door. I say vote with your feet, and stay away until they get the wakeup call.

We went here twice in our week stay. Delicious oysters. The seaweed salad was very good. Hush puppies the BEST ever and the Red Fish, blackened was amazing. Huge portion of fish! Great meal!!

This was our go to place when I was a little kid till we were teenagers when we visited our grandparents in Flagler. We HAD to go there a few times because it was so great. It was tasty, great location, right there on the beach. Perfect! If I ever head that way I will make sure to stop again.

First timer and we will be back. Very casual, on the beach. Screen in eating area with a beautiful view of the ocean. Menu is pretty basic and features fish, burgers (try the grass fed bison burger for a real treat) and salads. Typical beers with some on tap. Not crowded for a mid week lunch but can get very busy on weekends and holidays. Small parking lot so you need to turn over your car to the valet. Generous portions, great tuna tacos.....actually better then Golden Lion! We will be back.

WELL, everything was really good, until I asked for the check and offered a credit card for payment. They referred me to an ATM Machine!!!!! REALLY, there are ATM Machines still in existence? Yes, they, along with several companies from the Dark Ages, only take cash. How incredible STUPID of them. This is 2014, not 1994. It really surprised me, as their menu, even though a "Beach Cafe" was very eclectic, with many healthy any vegetarian options, a sign that they art NOT in the Dark Ages. So, why the Neanderthal stance on credit cards? Go figure, but even though I've been coming here for years, and even though they are very good at what they do, I shall not EVER return until they decide to arrive in the year 2000. Why not only accept Gold Bullion?

Used to LOVE this place but their prices went up - so now it's just a place to go for special occasions. Makes me sad. Fish dip, Blue Moon and a Fish Reuben with hush puppies. My favorite.

Best view in north Eastern Florida. Hightides is pristinely located on the shores of The beach and is a must go every time my family visits florida. kids can order food and play on the beach until their food is ready. I recommend ordering some of their world class clams and freshly caught fish (mahi is my favorite). Highly recommend to all.

This is the kind of place that I normally look for. It was right on the beach, open air type of dining with screens/windows that open. Picnic tables and benches, plastic baskets, and good service. It had all of these but the food was lacking. I ordered the Shrimp PoBoy and I tried everything to give the shrimp some kind of taste. It was just bland, I couldn't taste the shrmip at all. My husband had the fried Grouper and he said it tasted fishy because they had left that black underside on. It was not a good experience. The Valet parking is funny because the place is kind of a shack.. Basically he is there because he has to juggle the cars around due to lack of any place to park.

When we first moved to Florida, we stayed in Flagler Beach for a few months before moving to Jacksonville. While here we used to hit up "Snack Jack" ALL the time. Well, we moved back here a few weeks ago, and now we're so close if I fall down, my head will probably be in their deep fryer. I really love this place. In a way, it's saving my life, just knowing that it's there. Being away from a city when you've lived in one all your life is extreme. The proximity to Snack Jack provides enough vibe to make me feel like I'm not in the middle of some god-awful hell populated by bible thumpers, middle aged bikers, decrepit methuselai (pl. Methuselah... get it? hahahahahahoho), and toothless rednecks. Not that I have anything against hanging with these good people, it's just that I run out of things to talk about. I mean sheeeeit, I'll drink with anyone. Anyway, there's no pretension here. Just nice people serving good food in a great place. Yes, there are better restaurants. Yes, there are cheaper restaurants. But when you're done eating at those other places (or as lots of fucktards like to say, "at the end of the day), you just want to go home. You don't want to leave Snack Jack because it's cozy, like your mom's living room, only it's right next to the ocean and there are cute and friendly ladies serving you food and beer. (and cute guys, says my wife). Some info: - They let dogs on the outside deck! - If you eat on the outside deck and it's getting dark, you will be eaten by some of those evil Floridian vampire bugs. Bring some deet or something. - I love all their food, but always end up getting the clam plate, the cheese steak or the chicken parm. My wife loves the Ahi tuna appetizer and dinner. They'll fry anything, it seems. Can't go wrong there. - Great jukebox with lots of obscure reggae, blues and also a shitton of 80's stuff. Also, Foreigner, so you can torture people you hate. - Unless you're on your 900 lb hawg with ape hangers and straight pipes that annoy everyone in town, you'll have to deal with valet parking. You can park a block away to avoid it, but don't be a fucking cheapskate!! I give the guys $5 every time because I'm so happy after hanging out there. So that's it. If you have a problem with this place, you are mentally deficient. You probably hate life, the beach, freedom, dogs, laughing children, clowns, laughing clowns, baby clowns, free clowns, deficient clowns, clown dogs and really freaky scary monster clowns with giant dagger teeth!! Freak!

My husband and I have been coming here since our honeymoon - 10 years ago. It is so fun! The staff is exceptionally friendly and make us feel comfortable and welcome. The food is so delish, simple but yummy! We usually get a steamed and fried seafood platter - nothing fancy. Beer is cold and goes great with food and a fabulous view right on the ocean. We will keep coming as long as it is here! Love it!

I felt like I had walked into a scene from a Jimmy Buffet song or one of his great novels. Loves the atmosphere!! I am actually doing this review a few days after trying this place. This is Saturday and we are there this past Monday. The place was super busy and packed bit that didn't slow the service down a bit. We went straight in, was seated and waited on within a matter of a seconds. The food was amazing and I will take my family back when we come back down from #WildWonderfulWestVirginia

The view from the deck is amazing... you are perched right over the beach! The food is always fresh and hot. I had the shrimp appetizer with sweet chili sauce, which was nice and crispy with just enough sweet and spice. We had a bucket of Red Stripe, which saves about $0.50 per beer. My husband had the burger and said it was great. My flounder sandwich was very tasty.

Snack Jack is a super chill joint that is made of win. You can eat delicious seafood here and also enjoy many thrilling beers which will get you drunk, as nature intended. It gets mad crowded quite often, which is because people have a fun time eating here. The waitstaff is cool and friendly, and Annette is the very coolest of all. We like eating at the bar just to hang out and catch up with her. She's totally rockstar. The whole place recently got an upgrade, with bigger booths in the main seating area and just as you walk in the front. Looks totally styling. Eating out on the back deck is always nice too, just for the view of the ocean. Go and have a beer or some conch fritters some night when there's a full moon, it's just gorgeous. My favorite spot to bring friends who see Flagler as a sleepy little town, which yeah it is, but where else in the entire USA are you going to eat tasty food DIRECTLY on the beach, in an awesome little beachfront shack that's been around since the 40's? Pretty much nowhere. Snack Jack is a nostalgia lover's dream. I wish I'd eaten there back then!

This place used to be really cool. The employees have been there for a long time and all are friendly. The atmosphere is pretty cool, but not what it used to be. My wife & her brother always made a trip to the Snack Shack whenever we would be in town. We went last night and the food has gone way down hill and we got a seat very quickly, which is unusual but the decline in the quality of the food may be an explanation. Bring cash unless you want to pay the fee to get cash from the ATM. They only take cash and you need to have cash for the required valet too. The view is great!

Great views, right on the ocean. A plus is that they allow on dogs on the outdoor dining deck. Food is average to good, lots of fried seafood on the menu. Good fish dip, coconut shrimp. Can't beat the views! Service has always been good even when busy.

I love this place. It's both a great place for a date and a great place to take the kids. If you dine outside there are stairs going right down to the beach (which is where we spend our time while waiting for our meals). The seafoods great and fresh. Service is good. It's what all beach restaurants should be. Surfs up!

  • Kevin M.

Touristy, but enough local flavor to be OK. Food OK, priced like a place with a great view of the water. And since there aren't a lot of other options with the view it's worth the visit.

Great beachfront location! Parking is valet only because of limited space on the beach. I had a glass of homemade Sangria and the Fish Taco's. Both excellent and items not expensive. Bring Benjamin's, they don't take credit cards.

Average food with rude service sums up this place. There was an open garbage can next to one of the tables with flies flying around. Where is the health department in this town? One star for the nice view.

Ahhhh.... Yes. Located right on the beach with indoor and outdoor seating and the crash of the surf serenading you realize northern Florida isn't so bad. High Tides serves high quality seafood at reasonable prices. Oysters and clams raw or steamed, killer onion rings, steamed shrimp and snow crab legs fill the extensive menu which includes local specialties such lightly fried conch fritters, crab fritters, stone crab claws when available and a local catch special such as sand dab a flounder like mild white Gulf fish. Fish comes grilled, blackened or fried. The fried fish sandwich is heaping and overflowing from bun. The also serve other "Po Boys" such as fried oysters, clams or shrimp. Beer and wine, Kona Lager and Amberbock and bud on tap which a decent selection of bottles. For landlubbers(what-ever the hell they are) there are Delicious burgers and a chicken sandwich. But really folks you're here for the reasonable priced tasty seafood. Parking is valet because there is no parking but it's no big deal, the valet is fast and courteous.

We came here because of the reviews and were a little disappointed. The smoked fish dip was great but the conch and crab fritters are over rated. Basically tasted like the hush puppies at Long Johns. Service was attentive and nice. If you're looking for a quick par lunch spot then this is it.

The place was packed!!!! Great food. Great vibe. Right on the beach. The seafood was fresh. It was so good I was eating the leftovers the next day cold! Service was good. As a note all servers, bartenders and bus boys were all pleasant. When we were leaving the valet saw us and brought our truck to the door. Awesome. FYI we were on vacation from Southwest Florida. What nice people.

Stayed in Flagger Beach last week and pretty much tried all the seafood shacks up and down the beach and High Tides was my very favorite! I love the organic menu and how fresh everything was. If your looking for a place to eat on the beach - make this stop #1 - you will go back and so will I!

  • Allison H.

  • Mallory Q.

This was a pretty nice seafood restaurant there was a nice menu with many different options of food. I ordered fried oysters and fries they both were very good. The waiter was friendly and I had a great dinner here. There was also a great view of the ocean.

  • Stephen W.

Outstanding food, awesome menu, quick service, excellent value! It was raining during our dinner so we couldn't see the water. I can only imagine the view is incredible! We will be back!

I love this place. It's both a great place for a date and a great place to take the kids. If you dine outside there are stairs going right down to the beach (which is where we spend our time while waiting for our meals). The seafoods great and fresh. Service is good. It's what all beach restaurants should be. Surfs up!

Touristy, but enough local flavor to be OK. Food OK, priced like a place with a great view of the water. And since there aren't a lot of other options with the view it's worth the visit.

Best place in Flagler Beach for - beer - food - ocean views - conversation.

And, it's Spring Break- be more prepared.

great view on the beach just feet away from the surf. for that reason it's worth going here.

Enjoy.
